Propertylink Group is pleased to announce that the Propertylink Australian Industrial Partnership fund has been ranked as the best performing fund in the 2017 “Preqin Insight: Alternative Assets in Australia and New Zealand” report.

The Propertylink Australian Industrial Partnership achieved a net internal rate of return of 27.5 per cent in 2016, the highest amongst the 21 private investment real estate funds in Australia and New Zealand that were selected to participate in the report.

Preqin is the alternative assets industry’s leading source of data and intelligence, including real estate.

“Our expertise in delivering value for investors and security holders has seen this fund ranked as the best performing fund in the industry,” said Stuart Dawes, Propertylink’s Managing Director and CEO.

“Our approach to active asset management, underpinned by the portfolio’s exposure to our key strategic thematics of urbanisation, last mile logistics, aging population and technology, has proved to be a winning recipe for delivering excellent returns to investors,” Mr Dawes said.

The Propertylink Australian Industrial Partnership fund comprised a diversified industrial portfolio of 36 assets in four states, with a strong bias to Sydney and Melbourne. The fund strategy was to aggregate a portfolio of income producing value-add industrial and business park assets in order to generate high returns via active management. In a partnership structure, investors in the fund were  Goldman Sachs, Grosvenor Group and Propertylink.The fund was established in 2014 and concluded in 2016.

The Propertylink Australian Logistics Trust was also ranked highly, achieving a net internal rate of return of 12.3 per cent, putting it in the top ten best performing funds in the category.

Propertylink’s investment management business manages approximately $1.2 billion (as at 30 June 2017) in industrial and office assets across nine external funds on behalf of global institutional investors. The business has delivered an average total return of 32 per cent to investors on realized investments since establishment of the external funds.
